Empowering Change: Endo Black, Inc. to Host MLK Day of Service Event
[Capitol Heights, MD, January 9, 2024] - Endo Black, Incorporated, a leading advocate for African American women and women of color affected by endometriosis, is excited to announce its 2nd MLK Day of Service event on January 21, 2024. This year, the organization is partnering with local communities to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy through a day of impactful service and advocacy.
In collaboration with Target and the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Endo Black, Inc. aims to address menstrual equity and education on women's reproductive health throughout the state of Maryland through its "MLK Day of Service: Providing Items Now to Kids (P.I.N.K.) Initiative." This initiative focuses on assembling 1,500 period care kits for high schools, with a specific emphasis on shedding light on period equity.
"On this MLK Day of Service, Endo Black, Inc. is honored to contribute to our community by addressing the often-overlooked challenges of period equity through our Social Impact Target. As always, we’re excited to partner to provide non-toxic period care items to high schools and access to health literature and resources that help young girls better understand women’s reproductive health," expressed Endo Black Inc.’s Executive Director, Lauren Kornegay.
Opal Snelling Moore, President of the Fort Washington Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., remarked, “It is fitting that during the month we celebrate the 111th Anniversary of our beloved organization, we are privileged to partner with Endo Black and Target to support the P.I.N.K initiative. For 111 years, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has been a leading voice championing the causes of women. The first public service act of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., was to participate in the Women’s Suffrage March in 1913, and we have provided impactful service to the communities we serve ever since.
We are proud to uphold Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service. The P.I.N.K initiative is an excellent opportunity to provide a much needed service by centering women’s health issues; and we hope to inspire other organizations to join us in supporting this critical work.”
The day will also feature a call to action for community members to participate actively in the service event. Ways to contribute:
